Sounds Like Dallas Cowboys QB Troy Aikman Would Love to Fight ESPN’s Skip Bayless
Back in 1996, ESPN’s Skip Bayless wrote a book about the Dallas Cowboys and speculated that quarterback Troy Aikman might be gay–which obviously wasn’t true. 15 years later, Aikan appears to still have a grudge and recently hinted that if he ever ran into Bayless–there’s a good chance he would try to knock the controversial commentator out.
Bruce Tomaso of The Dallas Morning News discussed on Wednesday how Aikman was recently asked about Bayless and his book when he was a guest on BaD Radio on The Ticket (1310 AM) and from what it sounds like–the Hall of Fame quarterback would love to take a punch at the ESPN commentator if given the opportunity. Here’s what Aikman had to say about Bayless and his book courtesy of Tomaso:
“When a guy like that comes out and, whether it’s intimated or stated, and there’s no substance to that claim, and he’s doing it purely to gain interest in a book, that’s a problem.”
“I will tell you this. I’ve not seen — I’ve not physically seen Skip Bayless since that time. That was in ’95. And I still kind of wonder what I might do to him when I do see him.”
The best part of the interview may have been when Dan McDowell–who is the co-host of BaD Radio–not only asked Aikman if he would say something to Billis if he ever ran into him, but actually get physical–in which Aikman responded, “I don’t know.”
Of course, Bayless is no stranger when it comes to speaking his mind and battling professional athletes (Chad Ochocinco ring a bell?) in the media–so it should be interesting to see what he has to say about Aikman’s comments from the interview.
