He is a little tired and banged up. And he still has physical scars from the Week 2 game against Philadelphia. Nonetheless, cornerback Adam Jones is feeling good about himself and his game.
Jones said he played his best game of the season in the Dallas Cowboys victory over Green Bay on Sunday night.
He finished tied for the team lead with eight tackles and seemed to have found a rhythm in the Cowboys' zone defense. In Tennessee, Jones played mainly man-to-man, and it has taken him awhile to adjust to the scheme.
"I'm pretty much comfortable now,"
Jones said before team meetings at Valley Ranch on Monday. "I played good [Sunday]."
Jones set the tone for a strong defensive effort by forcing and recovering a fumble on the second play of the game. He returned the fumble 21 yards, helping to set up a Nick Folk field goal.
Jones also returned three punts for 13 yards.
"The body is tired, but as far as defense, I'm cool,"
he said. "I've been off for a year. I'm getting in the hot tub and sauna. Believe me, this really helps."
Kosier out again: Starting left guard Kyle Kosier re-injured his right foot and will miss two to three weeks.
Kosier had returned to the field against the Packers after missing the first two games of the season with a a sprained foot and hairline fracture. But in the locker room after the game, Kosier was hurting.
On Monday, he had his foot in a walking boot and went for an MRI exam.
Cory Procter will replace Kosier in the starting lineup.
Hurd coming back: Wide receiver Sam Hurd, who has missed the first three games of the season with a left high ankle sprain, said he expects to participate in all of the team and individual drills in practice Wednesday.
During his rehab, Hurd said he got treatment at Valley Ranch almost every day, then would get more with a trainer who helps teammate Terrell Owens.
"I'm 99 to 100 percent right now,"
Hurd said. "I can break and do everything."
